הגוף נע על משטח אופקי חלק, על הגוף פועלים שלושה כוחות: כוח חיצוני F, כוח הכובד W וכוח הנורמל N.

 נגדיר את ציר ה-X בכיוון אופקי ימינה  ואת ציר ה-Y בכיוון אנכי כלפי מעלה.
