זמן מחזור תנועת המטען בכיוון הניצב לשדה לא תלוי בגודל המהירות ולא בכיוונה.

כדי לפתח ביטוי לזמן המחזור נכתוב את משוואת התנועה לתנועה המעגלית במישור הניצב לכיוון השדה המגנטי.
